The addiction to cannabis is in the same category as video games, tennis, model rocketry, sudoku or any other "escape" activity.

The difference is cannabis relieves a huge number of issues besides boredom/depression/anxiety and other 'escapist' problems. Cannabis relieves pain and a huge number of physical issues.

People become addicted to the relief cannabis brings them. When this relief is removed, a huge variety of withdrawal type symptoms can appear.

When People's Issues are Relieved Through Other Means Than Cannabis...

Their so-called cannabis addiction evaporates. Cannabis is not physically or mentally addictive or this would not happen.
