We sure did - my partner has an MS in Psychology and a BS in Counseling with an Emphasis on Chemical Addiction. I have a MS and BS in Psychology. She has worked in multiple counselling environments and we have produced addiction recovery courses on Udemy too. :)
So in short studied and done counseling!
