added value of steemit / what could be the added value of steemit?

fast expending user base

earning credits 

compared to pinterest and twitter users, more time per day spent at steemit ( risk of decrease in time, not so new anymore, other competitors, lack of growing or relevant content)

inspired by an article on huffpost. 


ps: anyone knows how to add a photo or gif to one's profile or into a post?
