What is ADA which will be listed on Bittrex on October 1

Everybody is talking about ADA being listed on Bittrex after a long break of not listing any coins, but not many know what it is.

ADA is the coin for Cardano proof of stake network, the mainnet was launched just today 29/09/2017. Cardano is a decentralised platform, built in the highly secure Haskell programming language, that will allow complex programmable transfers of value in a secure and scalable fashion.

1 ADA = 1,000,000 Lovelaces.

The ICO raised about 62 million USD. ICO price in BTC was 419 satoshis / ADA. Same price in today's BTC would be 65 satoshis per 1 ADA. There are 26-31bn ADA in circulation (according to different sources). Through tx and reward the maximum market cap will be 45bn.
