"What The Hell Am I Doing Here?!" - A Royal Wedding Freethinker Protest, London April 29th 2011

Back in 2011 I was gifted a free bus tour, so I decided to go to London and take part in the protests surrounding the royal wedding of Kate and William.

Went by myself and wasn't quite sure whether I would meet any people from the English ZM chapters at all, but I didn't really care at the end. I knew there were going to be a lot of protesters who would have interesting things to say about the established structures regardless, and so I packed a camera to capture what I felt would give a fair impression of what went down that day.

It was an amazing trip!

I had read beforehand that the "love police" might be at the protests and despite the many protest clusters and the countless places I could have been in the city I ran right into them, or at least one of them - self-proclaimed "spiritual entertainer" Danny Shine - using a megaphone to talk some sense into people who cheered for this most expensive and unneccessary occasion at the detriment of society at large.

"The love police" have been doing this sort of thing a lot back then - talking publicly through megaphones to bring people's attention to glaring social and political issues. And often pissing them off greatly!

To this day I am still proud of what I captured - priceless moments of indoctrination encountering solid logic.

The story of my travel to London has many other interesting (but less relevant) facets, so for now I just want to share my recordings with you as a piece of study for how easily the public is manipulated into cheering for things that are not in their interest at all. And having no good arguments to back up their stance when confronted on it.

I wish the sound were a little better but couldn't do much to improve it. However, the energetic interaction is clear as day, and most important bits can be heard rather well.
