Tip 21: Contests & Photo contests
Tip 20 tells you what Steemit is.
Steemit is not the same as Steem. On Steem you find other (social) platforms like Palnet, Reggaesteem, Neoxian-city, Creativecoin, SteemCoinpan, etc.
New on Steemit
If you are new you start with a little bit SP.
It is good to join contests with every post you write. This is the way to be seen.
In most cases people find you because you join a contest or by coincedence.
You can write what you like even if you join a contest.
No matter if you like to share something personal, have information or a message, there is always a contest you can use for it.
** Good content**
Good content contains text!
One line or a link is NOT seen as good content. Write!
Photos, memes, actifit reports
Add text to it. The minimum is 44-50 words, the more the better.
Good content worth an upvote is closer to 1000-2000 words as 44.
The actifit report is great to post with. Copy-paste your article with photos into it.
Out of words?
If you join a poetry or very short story contest you can add extra text, for example about you, a list with what you wrote, etc. Be creative and observe what others do.
Photos
Use your own photos, own drawings, own art!
If you have nothing pixabay.com can help you. If a picture is not yours mention its source!
You can mention what kind of camera you used, special circumstances, the place etc.
You can join photocontests with your photos.
There is no need to just post them. Get the best out of your photo and the time you invest.

Make a real post and add text. With the text you can join another contest or join freewriting with @mariannewest.
Spread your chances and use the right tags to be found.
If you use the app Appics (see appics.com) other appics users will see, comment, upvote your photo (it is shown first) and steemit users can read, comment, upvote on it via new and under the tag of the contest you join.
