RE: Actifit Report [19/11/2018]: Calisthenics & 10km Run (42 Mins).

in #actifit6 years ago

I maybe walked over 3 miles and worked a busy shift at Starbucks making drinks, and I noticed you did a 10K. I trying to figure out how the tracker works, because I would of bet money that a 10K would generate more than an 8500 activity count.

Good job and keep it up with the #actifit fitness tracker.

Sort:

Probably if I stuck the phone to my leg instead (a lot of swinging movement) of keeping it in my running belt, I would get 80k points instead of 8k haha :P But that would be cheating and I don't like cheating :-)

I usually have my phone in a cargo short pocket, and when I run stairs or run to work, I hold it in my hand.

It seems that the more you keep it still on your body while moving around, the less points you get. If you kept it on your wrist, you would get loads.

Thanks :-)

Yeah, hehe. I think that this tracker is misleading.
I turned the app on, left home, walked 500m to starting point, then ran 10k, walked back home another 500 m. Then I checked the points and it was only 8450.
That's why I took the photo to prove the actual distance that I ran.
It appears that it doesn't track your distance but general spacial movement. So when you move around the gym lifting weights, it would probably track this movement too.
I did the test once and just stood in the spot swinging the phone around and the app was acquiring points lol.
