Hello everyone ๐,
Happy hump day ๐๐ and a very warm welcome to my world. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for, the last day of May. I have had a lovely day and am happy. As the day draws to a close allow me to fill you in on how my stepping went and also share some stories from media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away ๐จ.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a drizzly morning as I made my way. A short walk that I enjoyed and then I was back indoors thirty minutes later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. A beautiful sunny ๐ day had emerged as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube, checking out other hive posts.
Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going๐น, otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent, the war in Sudan set to escalate as the sudanese army pulled out of the talks in Jeddah Saudi Arabia๐. The shaky ceasefire ends on Monday.
Russia trending as a drone strike caused a fire at an oil refinery in Krasnodar region.
Over in Ukraine, drone attacks aimed at Kyiv were intercepted. There was a trending viral video showing the shell of an intercepted drone landing in the middle of traffic, narrowly missing a moving vehicle๐.
Not far off in Kosovo, protests by ethnic Serbs continued as they protested appointment of ethnic Albanian mayors. NATO forces are on ground keeping peace โฎ๏ธ .Across the pond in the US, president Biden has urged Congress to pass the debt limit bill which he negotiated with republicans. Treasury warns the deal must be passed by June 5 to avoid a default by US govt that could send global markets in a tailspin๐.Under the deal close to $1.5 trillion of fiat will have to be printed, a wonderful thing for bitcoin and cryptos๐ฏ.
Let's go to Asia, where billionaire Elon Musk received a warm welcome on his China tour. Perhaps looking to expand the market for his Tesla cars. Though he hasn't tweeted anything about this trip.
Then political shenanigans ๐น in south Korea as an emergency warning was sent to everyone's mobile by sms as north Korea launched an illegal satellite. There were sirens everywhere in Seoul๐น.
