TGiF ๐ท๐ป and a very warm welcome to my world ๐. The weekend is upon us yet again and I have had a great day. We are into the new month of March. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive ๐ฏ. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it ๐จ.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze๐ was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some errands done at the city centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going๐น. Otherwise a nice sunny ๐ day.
Globally, the devastation in Gaza continued, Israeli attacks focused on central and southern parts of Gaza. That death toll has exceeded thirty thousand๐ญ.
Also trending, 7 Israeli captives have been killed in the ongoing airstrikes in Gaza. That according to Hamas brigades.
Many countries have condemned yesterday's killing of over 100 civilians as they sort to get relief food๐ฟ. Columbia is one of them and has suspended all arms purchases from Israel๐.
In the UK, George Galloway trending as he won a by election in Rochdale. He had campaigned speaking out against Israel's attacks in Gaza.
Russia also trending as defiant crowds gathered to pay tribute to Alexei Navalny as his funeral was held in Moscow where he was finally laid to rest๐ญ. If only he had remained in Germany after that serious poisoning incident in 2020 we wouldn't be burying him.
Speaking of Germany, climate protesters joined forces with public transport workers to push for change. Tens of thousands were on the streets๐.
Across the pond in the US, the two largest pharmacy chains will begin selling the prescription abortion pill, mifeprostone, this month. CVS and Walgreens said they will start distribution next week in a handful of states where abortion is legal.
Finally, the Nigerian government has ordered crypto firm, binance to pay $ 10 billion fine. They blame binance for the recent collapse of the naira. Two executives have been arrested๐. Don't they know that all fiat including naira are eventually going to zero๐คช.
Next let them come for decentralized cryptos like bitcoin or hive, they are unstoppable and there will be no executive to arrest๐น.
