Hello everyone ๐,
Happy hump day ๐happy new year๐ and a very warm welcome to my world ๐. Its yet another 24 hours to be grateful for ๐ฏ, how are your new year's resolutions coming along๐น. I have had a great day and as it draws to a close am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away ๐จ.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a cloudy morning as I made my way. Anyways, I did enjoy my walk and was back indoors an hour later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. Still a dull cloudy day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube.
Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going๐น; what's trending is that the cult leader who had people starving and dying last year; had his day in court today and the trial continues.
Globally, another devastating day in Gaza as the airstrikes continued๐ฟ.
163 people killed in the past 24 hours, overnight bombings took place in Rafa and Khan Younis.
Also trending Israel and Hamas have reached a deal brokered by Qatar and France. Under the deal the humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaza in exchange for medication for Israeli captives. Some humanitarian aid and medicines have arrived in Egypt ready to be moved to Gaza. At least some relieve๐ฏ.
After carrying out missile attacks in Iraq yesterday: Iran has carried out missile attacks in Pakistan๐. Saying it was targeting terrorists in Balochistan province.
Pakistan has since summoned Iran's ambassador and recalled it's ambassador from Iran๐น; For unprovoked violation of its airspace.
Not far off, the houthis doing the most in the red sea. Today they hit another cargo ship off the coast of southern Yemen๐. The US has officially relisted them as a terrorist organization for their attacks on commercial shipping.
Finally, in the UK, the royals trending as the princess of Wales, Kate is recovering in hospital after abdominal surgery. Meanwhile king Charles is set to undergo prostate procedure next week.
