RE: A walk around Beaumont Park, Huddersfield

in #actifit5 years ago

I do live in a hilly area in the north of England which lends itself to more natural beauty. Good views, more diverse vegetation etc. because you can't grow crops on it and so on. I grew up in the south where it is all very flat and boring. I moved up north to study and never wanted to go back, the hills and natural beauty being the main reason really. It was lucky that where I chose to study was in the area for sure, otherwise I may have never ended up living around this landscape. Have you ever thought about moving somewhere with nicer scenery?

I have, but right now my job keeps me here... I actually grew up in far west Texas which has some beautiful desert landscapes and mountainous parks with lots of hiking.... I really miss the mountains most, but at least I still get to travel back there each year around the holidays. 😃

Ah yes at least you get to see the mountains a bit every year. I love the mountains too, although they don't reach major heights here. The biggest one in the UK is 1345m high. Either way they create great scenery. I visit the Lake District (an area in the UK with a lot of mountains) at least once a year if possible. It would be cool to see a mountainous area with a desert landscape - it's all green here!
