RE: My Actifit Report Card: January 6 2020
Obesity, and the other associated health issues that stem from it, are a problem all over the world and is exacerbated by the increase of sugar and salt into the diet plus the increased amounts of carbohydrates we consume as humans these days. Over and above that is the increased amounts of additives to our foods like flavour enhancers, colouring and preservatives.
I think fast food is loaded with the above, as far as my understanding goes, and it should be a sometimes food rather than a regular habit. How often is sometimes? I'd say once a month, tops.
Don't get me wrong, I love me a Zinger burger from KFC but I believe it's important to remember that it is not generally a healthy option.
It's a social thing now though I believe as society is almost conditioned to accept fast food as the norm and a legitimate option. Take McDonalds for instance...Their menu simple increases more and more to cater to a wider audience and they can serve up whatever slop they choose knowing the masses will consume it.
It's interesting to note, that in many communities, certainly here in Australia, it's the lower socio-economic demographic that struggles the most with many of the diet-related health conditions...This is what fast-food companies rely on...
That´s a great comment, I hardly ever receive so well structured responses.
I agree with you. It´s interesting to know that in other countries the lower class is the most exposed to obesity and other nutrition problems too.
Thanks for your support and also thanks to @curangel :-)
You wrote an interesting post that was worth a decent comment and so that's what I did. There is far to many people here rewarding a decent post with only a cursory "good post" comment which I hate. You wrote a good post and it's my pleasure to engage with you. Keep it up.
