Safeway does stuff like that here but you can get a free turkey if you spend $150 in the store ( a bit more expense than your $35...). That is NOT hard to do if buying for a big dinner with the prices of everything. Our turkey is just over 12 lbs too. That is a good size for a standard family. Big gatherings need the monster birds, or multiples.
