RE: My Actifit Report Card: July 29 2019

I love Stargazer Lilies! The profusion of color is so delicious looking! I thought the lilies should last for years as mine have and here is what they have to say:

To ensure the bulbs grow back each year, water the lilies once weekly during summer. Provide about 1 inch of water per week, which is enough to keep the top 6 inches of soil damp. Sprinkling 1 tablespoon of a 10-10-10 all-purpose fertilizer over each square foot of soil in spring provides the necessary nutrients for the year. Dig up and divide the bulbs every three years so the lily bed doesn't become crowded, which can reduce flowering. Replant the bulbs 6 inches deep and space them 6 to 8 inches apart.

Also, if they get too much-standing water, the bulb could rot.

As an aside some days are meant to be down days, but, at least you and your son are getting some playtime in! Enjoy your time! That is the best part of life!

Thank you for the detailed answer! I think maybe inconsistent watering was the problem. It either gets really wet or not watered much at all during the summer dry season. It is hard to water the backyard so maybe I will try to transplant them or buy some more bulbs to put in by the front yard.
