AT LAST, AN EFFECTIVE MEANS OF RESTRICTING MINORS FROM ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: INTRODUCING THE ACLYD PROJECT

I was reading some articles on blockchain not long ago and I came across a line that says that blockchain projects have covered virtually every sector of the economy, though with particular emphasis on the mobile sector and IoT. Somehow, I haboured doubts about that assertion as I was yet to come across projects of certain sectors of the economy among which was the wine/alcohol industry... until now...

This notwithstanding, studies have explicitly unveiled that minors have quite an easy time accessing alcohol online (than they do offline.). This is not surprising. Minors who are well knowledgeable in the internet find it very easy to outsmart the law. They recourse to the net as an easy channel to acquire liquor, taking advantage of the lack of checks in such online transactions.
  Thus, the means to effectively restrict minors especially at the consumer level is a serious challenge to the alcohol industry especially with respect to online purchases and home delivery of products.
  
  
• Payment Processing:
  The present system of paper checks for alcoholic products causes unnecessary lag in the supply chain which is very unhealthy for smooth running of businesses in the wine & spirits industry. To worsen the ordeal, unnecessary charges are from time to time imposed for those goods - even those ordered online - as the papers pass from one hand to another during the checking procedures. Needless to say, this is an experience that no merchant or buyer wishes to undergo at any rate.
