Achievement 2: Basic Security on Steem

Today am going to share to you about the keys that were given to us in the form of PDF when we created the STEEMIT account and also how to use them. After I completed Achievement1, then I decided to go to Achievement 2 regarding the basic security of our steem accounts.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF KEYS:
Master Password: Master password is the most important password and we shouldn’t share it, it was given to you in the form of PDF when you created the account. Masters helps to generate other keys of the account and that the account can be stolen with this password.

Private Active Key:
Active key enables a user to transfer, place orders in the internal market, vote for a post, its allows a user to send steem funds to other accounts as well as exchange steem for steem dollars in the internal exchange, to also make some changes to your profile and update information.

Private Owners Key:
A user needs to protect this key at all cost. This key, its give a user ability to send and receive money, comment, upvote, and post. In addition, this key can be used from time to time when needed. It can also be used to terminate the compromised account.

Private Posting Key
Posting key is normally used for voting up and down, posting, follow or mute them comment and update other accounts. Its also enables users to log in to their accounts. If you provide this key to a third party it will allow them to post and comment as you in Steemit.

Private Memo:
Is used to create and read memos. When they are encrypted. It is also used when transferring funds to another person.

All these keys are the most important for your account. For these reason keep these keys in a safe place and do not provide any to a third party, they can use it to reach your account.
