Rambideun

in #aceh6 years ago (edited)

A black-reddish yellow spider was in a spider's web among newly hatched spider babies. Spider webs are woven between tree branches to other branches, is a spider's web that also serves as a prey trap, in addition to the function of other purposes. This Spider's genus belongs to a subfamily of the Araneidae family named Nephilinae, in general spiders are known in the Acehnese as Rambideun.

In Aceh, we have hereditary knowledge that spider webs can stem the hemorrhage and heal. In a short search of the various sources in circulation, it seems that the information has a solid foundation of the historical roots, it has a hint of truth medically.

Some sources inform: The medicinal properties of spider silk have been recognised for centuries but not clearly understood. The Greeks and Romans treated wounded soldiers with spider webs to stop bleeding. It is said that soldiers would use a combination of honey and vinegar to clean deep wounds and then cover the whole thing with balled-up spider webs. 1

The savage war encountered by ancient Greek and Roman armies has shown the magic of spider webbing in preventing common infections and reducing the level of accidents on the battlefield. Their popular healing properties were then used as a gauze pad to stop the bleeding of an injured person. Here is how to make a bandage from the spider web for yourself. 2

In a science article By Charles Q. Choi publish October 13, 2006, by livescience.com:

Lewis said researchers at Tufts University in Medford, Mass., have found that spider webs could be used as scaffolds for regenerating ligaments damaged in one of the world's most common knee injuries—ruptured anterior cruciate ligaments, or ACLs. 3

The following explanation by Cheryl Hayashi studies spider silk, one of nature's most high-performance materials. Each species of spider can make up to 7 very different kinds of silk. How do they do it? Hayashi explains at the DNA level. Check out the video from youtube channel TED, Published on Dec 7, 2011.

I will continue searching for articles of scientific studies related to antibiotic elements in spider webs or spider silk. This is to convince me if the spider web can be used as a medical solution at any time in the first-aid operation.

Here's are photos for Rambideun.

I happened to encounter it in the village forests during a visit with @pedir-museum to the location of the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam heritage site 16th century, at Sanggeu, Pidie, Aceh.

Very interesting post, I am sure we will someday see spiders being used to help heal us. Maybe fewer people will be scared of them, then.

Hopefully, the spider can positively impact on humans, as well as the nets can heal wounds. Authentic conclusions by medical experts as a reference.

If i found spider web before now, i would destroy it but this post is an eye opener that it can be used to cure wound and stop bleeding. Wow. So many usefulness of works of creation that human can completely unravel. Thanks @vannour for sharing. I also followed.

thanks, can be useful for you. Need further study so as not to be harmful in using it.

I sure do, thanks
