Lunar New Year Celebration in Aceh as a Form of Tolerance

Thursday night, dozens of Chinese citizens in Banda Aceh celebrated the Lunar New Year 2018 at Darma Bhakti Temple, Penayong, Banda Aceh. A series of ritual events to welcome the Chinese New Year, starting at 12:00 last night. The Chinese people seemed to pack the Vihara to perform a prayer and pray together.
The incense smoke filled the entire Dharma Bakti Temple building as it was at 00.00 WIB, a man beating a gong and bell three times, a sign of the Chinese New Year has arrived.

As the sun began to rise on Friday morning, ethnic Chinese began to come into the temple to pray. In the corner of the monastery's room, there is an incense of various sizes arranged neatly on the table by the manager.
