Literary Journalism - Paseo De Santiago

A literary journalism is a type of creative nonfiction that deals about focusing in a certain subject, not the author. It is similar to magazine and newspaper writing, where it gives factual information about certain event, or happenings around us.
Literary Journalism is also called Immersion Journalism, wherein it requires a close contact to a subject in a long period of time, either two weeks, or in a month.

         Paseo De Santiago: Unforgettable Experience

It was a rainy day, the breeze was quite humid that afternoon. The sun was covered by the clouds, but not totally dark due to its rays reflection. we were in the seaside of Barangay Santiago, the seaside known as Paseo De Santiago, it is an area where there are beautiful landscapes, signage and other designs.

Paseo De Santiago is one of the tourist spot in Iligan City, located in Barangay Santiago. We were there for a visitation and observe the beautiful Paseo De Santiago, and it is also part of our writing activity in our subject, which is creative nonfiction. It stands as the attraction of the visitors. There are many people visiting there, such as families, friends, classmates, and love ones.
Going to Paseo De Santiago, we were able to see the biggest tree which is the Balete Tree. Entering the hallway straight, is where Paseo De Santiago located. If you were living in the city, you can easily go there because it is near and accessible through public transport such as, jeep or racal- it is similar to a tricycle, where it uses battery to function.

There were facilitators in our visitation, and they are our teachers, our supportive and gorgeous teachers. they have also enjoying with us and taking pictures with us to a beautiful signage of Philippines and Iligan City. We have also seen our former teacher when we were in grade eleven. We’re so happy upon seeing her and it’s been a long time we never see her. So, we took pictures together with her and talked about the things in our present life.

Also, there is a huge monument of Lapu-lapu- is the hero of Cebu City, where he fight against the Spaniards to protect his territory, in that battle, they defeated the Spaniards. In his monument, he is truly brave and a protector, he have sword and a shield on her hands, soaring.

It was a high tide sunset, the waves from the sea looks mad. The see meets the sky, and it was a perfect view of the signage due to the beautiful sunset. We took pictures together with our teachers and the gorgeous lanterns or lights above the shore was turned on and the lights in every tress looks so gorgeous.

Instead of walking around to see all things in Paseo de Santiago, we ride a bike that is for rent, it cost fifty pesos per hour, so we really enjoy biking and watching the beautiful spots of Paseo de Santiago.
Our fifty pesos payment for riding a bike was worth it, it was really a long time for us to use the bike and we enjoy looking around.

From there, we proceeded to the KTV Bar it is also inside of Paseo de Santiago. It is quite expensive because it worth two hundred pesos per hour and we don’t have enough money to afford it but we’re so happy when our previous former teacher offered the cost or payment for free, she was the one who pay the expenses in KTV. So, we truly enjoy singing and dancing that night. We also enjoy listening the live band and the song or music is truly romantic.

Our visitation and observation in Paseo de Santiago was organized by our subject teachers and also our Participation.
