Village for deer hunting in Trumon, Aceh

in #aceh8 years ago

One day we passed a village in Trumon, south of Aceh. Stop at a popular restaurant provide food from venison. But unfortunately, we arrived at the restaurant after the venison had been consumed by other customers. We did not find the deer, instead finds Rusdi, a resident in the village, and invited us to his home.

Rusdi told us about the deer in the area near Louser which a protected forest area. Once, said Rusdi, he and his friends spread out a net to trap the deer. Then after those deer caught in a trap, they were also seeing a tiger inside. Sumatran tiger is endangered animals, was also caught in a trap when it was hunt for prey. The deer hunter had to open part of trap so that the king of the jungle can get out of the trap, and they had to wait a long time for it.

Rusdi also told us, in the rainy season, sometimes, deer were also down to the village in search of food. That's so that the village is famous for the reindeer, and the restaurants there to provide food from venison almost every day.

Deer heads hanging at the front of Rusdi homes, in Trumon.

Shops that are still too early to be opened.

Children going to school on a rainy day.

One of homes there that still in the traditional model.

The other one that still using sago palm leaf to the roof.

A pedlar on the road that wet from rain.

A road is covered by overflowing rivers after heavy rains.

Fog in the hills and jungles.

We were talking in Rusdi homes

Living with deer has a lot of possible outcomes. It's interesting that Rusdi people are using nets to capture deer. Your post is an interesting contrast to a post by @cognoscere, just today: they say death in the wild isn't pretty - it's about living with a lot of deer around, too.

As long as no damage, and always maintain the survival of an ecosystem, I think it will always be natural. Thanks for the comments and links, @haphazard-hstead.

That's the key, isn't it -- maintaining the ecosystem. Enjoy your countryside!
