The woman salt farmer in Aceh

Suryani. That's her name. She was left for dead by her husband a few years ago. Suryani had two children, one in elementary school and one is still in school. Now, she was widowed and trying to bear the burden of her own family life with salt farming. She really a strong woman Acehnese.

Salt farming, indeed, are familiar to Suryani, who lived in Sigli, Aceh. The work was already lived by her since childhood because her parents also had the same job. Blang Paseh district and around it in Sigli is known as an area of salt production since long time ago, and they are do the job, hereditary and traditional.

After her husband left, Suryani work alone, in the workplace for salt. She was one of the members in the group "Kugar Bunga Teratai" She worked start from early morning until noon. Sometimes, taken her two children to go with her. Proceeds from sale of salt was sufficient to comfort her family.
