Blue color of Clitoria
There's my post before this one, which shows the flowers of this one (legume). Its scientific name, as I had also mentioned earlier, caused controversy among botanists. However, the name Clitoria survived until today. (source)
But in posts from previous, flower color was not blue, but is closer to purple. I did not find a blue flowers at that time and it was only seen on Wikipedia. Well, now, I've found Clitoria flowers are colored blue (Clitoria ternatea) on the outskirts of a road which I passed, and until now, I just discovered it there. For that, here, I want to touch on two things.
First, about herbs that is parts of it resemble human organs. There is a statement that called the Doctrine of signatures, which states:
that herbs resembling various parts of the body can be used by herbalists to treat ailments of those body parts. (Details can be read on this source)
Secondly, on a rice cooking traditions of the Malays, which these flowers has been used for coloring the Nasi Kerabu.
In addition, Clitoria also used for treatment.
These images were taken in Aceh Besar, northern Sumatra.

Yes, colorants for the rice was taken from this flower stew.
Beautiful flowers. In Thailand, the color of these flower is used for making dessert more colorful. Thanks for sharing. Your rice looks delicious.
