This river known the Peusangan river. Why this river is my favorite? That is because I was born in a village on the banks of this river. That's where we've swam and played in childhood, and watered our buffaloes.

The river flows from the Gayo highlands. The water comes from the lake's most proud of the people of Aceh, called the lake Laut Tawar. This river runs through northern Bireuen in Aceh, and empties into the Strait of Malacca. From upstream to the estuary, the river flows along 142 km, and has a watershed area of 2007 km2.

This river brings great blessing for the people who live in Bireuen, because of its water to irrigate rice fields are very wide. And with the construction of a dam on the part of the river flow in 1991, this river to irrigate 6562 hectares of paddy fields, and became one of the guarantors of prosperity in the region.
