Why don't try this one. Apom, a pancake with a distinctive taste of Aceh spices cooked on charcoal, made by a superb woman in a traditional market in Meurudu Pidie Jaya.

Did you hear about the latest big earthquake disaster in Aceh, Indonesia? Yes, it was here in Meurudu, Pidie Jaya.

An earthquake with a magnitute of 6.5 was happened on 7 December 2016, has caused 104 people died, with at least 1,000 people injured, more than 10,000 evacuees and 19,130 houses were reportedly damaged (BNPB, 19 December 2016). It was the deadliest disaster since 2005, after the huge Tsunami 2004.

Above all, as Acehnese, I am proud of the people who can recover quickly after the disaster. They back to work, continuing the ever-destroyed life. Although they have not fully recovered. As their houses and vital buildings have not been renovated by the government as promised before.

This women, who sells apom said, "Faith, that makes Acehnese can always quickly recover from any tragedy, any disaster."
