The mating season for butterflies

Butterflies are insects belonging to the order Lepidoptera, or insects with winged scales
Simply put, butterflies are distinguished from moths aka night butterflies based on their active time and physical characteristics. Butterflies are generally active during the day (diurnal), while moths are mostly active at night (nocturnal). The butterfly rests or rests with its wings up, the moth rests with its wings spread. Butterflies usually have a brilliantly beautiful color, moths tend to be dark, dull or gray. However, these differences are always exceptions, so it can not be scientifically fixed.
Butterflies and moths are very numerous, on the island of Java and Bali Island alone recorded more than 600 species of butterflies. The type of moth has so far not been made a complete list, but it is suspected there are hundreds of species. Butterflies become one of the few types of insects that are not harmful to humans.
Butterflies have a dating routine where they must first find a suitable, potential mate. the male must first find out whether the female has been fertilized. If the female has been fertilized, she releases a strong chemical called 'pheromone', it tells the males that she is not available.
Once the matching pair has been found, the marriage takes place. When male butterflies and butterflies are ready to mate, they perch on the leaves or other surfaces and carry the tip of their stomachs together. The couple may remain in this position for several hours while the male passes to a spermatophore female, a package containing nutrients and male cells, or sperm, which will fertilize a female egg. Both female and male butterflies do not fly while they are mating. When mating is complete, a process occurs that results in the fertilization of the female egg. Then he is ready to lay eggs.

The butterfly egg consists of a hard-toothed outer layer of shell, called a chorion. It is coated with a thin layer of wax that prevents dry eggs before the larvae have time to thrive completely. Each egg contains a number of small funnel-shaped openings at one end, called 'micropyles'.
The butterfly egg is attached to the leaves with a special glue that hardens quickly. Eggs are usually placed on plants. Each species of butterfly has its own host plant range and while some butterfly species are limited to one plant species, others use different types of plants, often including the same family members.
The egg stage lasts several weeks in most butterflies but the eggs are placed close to the winter, especially in temperate regions, through the stage diapause and hatches may occur only in spring. Other butterflies may spawn in spring and they hatch in the summer. These butterflies are usually northern species including Mourning butterfly robes and Tortoiseshell butterflies.
