Brazillian Toothache Plant (Cocaine Gums)

Have you ever heard of a toothache plant/cocaine gums?

Among the non-marijuana with cannabinoid compounds, Acmella oleracea, popularly known as, Electric daisy or Spilanthes is an amazing sensation in the mouth, some kind of a natural anesthesia.

When taken, it reduces the pain associated with toothaches and can induce saliva secretion.

Electric Daisy – Acmella oleracea is successful at blocking neurons from firing at nerve endings, preventing the sensation of pain. The compounds found in the electric daisy are called N-Isobutylamides, and similarly to other cannabinoid-like compounds they regulate pain and inflammation.

This plant is called Tendula barbata, known as Brazilian toothache plant or devil's claw.
