I am a dog shelter volunteer in the country where every day tens of dogs are dumped on the street. All I am creating is for and about homeless dogs.

Sleep, my Spyros, shelter dog,
It's too late to bark.
All are sleeping: every frog,
Every chick and lark.

Fast asleep is your doghouse
And your iron chain.
And your neighbor - tiny mouse
Hiding from the rain.

All are sleeping, but The Moon
In the clouds' foam.
Since it knows that very soon
You will find your home.

Watching from the blue
With its giant yellow eye
Those who long for you,

Saw them buying most lovely toys,
Making softest bed
For their best Dog Valley choice,
For their lovely pet...

All your hardships will be left
In your homeless past.
Someone's love will help forget
What will no more last.

And for them, to whom you'll fly
For your happy end,
You'll be precious gift of life
And amazing friend!

Humans' memories are hard.
Mine will keep, my boy,
How strong your trustful heart
Beats with love and joy...
