I died and gained land.
Not in that order.

First we need to get married, to a countess. For some alliance business.

We marry our daughter to a king.
Also alliance thing.
Spoiler alert: he commits suicide at the age of 20,but with an heir from her.

Suddenly our claim was protected by 600 troops only.
We have over 1k.
Let's start a war!

Because we are good at a war, we will be a commander for our liege.
Who does often change here..

The doomed marriage..

That was a very slow start.
My character did gain one county only.
But our family is spread out with lots of kids.
