The Return of Superman - Overview

Hi Everyone,

Today I’ll be introducing a variety I love while I was pregnant with my boys. It is a show dedicated to getting celebrities who are fathers to look after their child/kids for 48 hours while their partner leaves the house and do their own things. During the wife’s time away, she will also leave a list of “to do” things for the husband to work or complete off before she comes home. During the 48 hours, there will be cameras set up around their house with microphones attached to them 24/7. Even if they want to go out, they will have a camera crew with them capturing every moment.

There are many well known celebrities and sport personalities on the show and their kids are all very cute. The most favourite family I loved to watch and is still loved by many people in Korea are actor Song Il-gook’s triplets - Dae Han, Min-guk and Man-se. They were 2 years old when they first started on the show and you can really see how Song Il-kook struggled with the triplets each week.

Once in awhile, you will see some special guest appearing giving the fathers a hand and play with the kids. Most of the are the celebrities friends and don’t mind appearing on the show. The most memorable guest celebrity was Jung Yong Hwa from the band CNBlue who bumped into twins Seo Eun and Seo Jun while visiting the shops requested by their father. As Yong Hwa was still in his 20s, he didn’t know what to do with the twins when they both requested his help at the shop. As I’m a fan of Yong Hwa, I was really impressed by how he managed to deal with the twins and made sure they were safe (one of them even slept on him during the segment). Yong Hwa did appear again later as a special helper for a family but he seemed more prepared compared to the first time where he literally bumped into the kids during the filming.

If you love kids, want to watch a show to relax from a long day (there are over 200 episodes to watch!), this show is definitely one I recommend.
