WWE's John Cena Finally Turns Heel For Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles What are the odds Cena's character will hit Donatello with a steel chair? Last updated by Chris E. Hayner on January 11, 2018 at 11:01AM
Cena joins an already impressive cast on the series that includes Ben Schwartz (DuckTales), Omar Miller (Ballers), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Brandon Mychal Smith (You're The Worst) and Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries)--who will lend her voice to the first African-American portrayal of April O'Neil.
In addition to joining Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cena is expanding his partnership with Nickelodeon. The 16-time WWE Champion will also host the Kids' Choice Awards once again and serve as an executive producer on Keep It Spotless, a new Nick game show.
"It's an honor to come back a second time to host the biggest, slimiest party of the year, the Kids' Choice Awards. Not only do I get to be a cartoon character in the new Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, but I get to be a villain, too," Cena says in a statement. "And to top it all off, I'm stepping behind the camera to executive produce Nick’s new competition series Keep It Spotless, which gives a whole new meaning to staying clean."
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will premiere sometime in late 2018. Character art for the series, including Cena's Baron Draxum, has yet to be released.
