Las Puertas de Miraflores

Las Puertas de Miraflores son paredes de roca caliza de 150m de alto, ubicadas en el sector Miraflores, municipio Acosta del Estado Monagas. Posee rutas para Escalada en Roca que están entre las más altas del país, con dificultades entre 5.7 hasta 5.13c y son consideradas entre las mejores paredes de escalada de América del Sur porque son extra-aplomadas en el lenguaje de los escaladores; pero Las Puertas de Miraflores no son sólo para escaladores; son un paseo excelente y altamente recomendado para practicar senderismo, observar la naturaleza y darse un buen baño de río, ya que se accede a ellas por una caminería en medio de un exuberante bosque con varios pasos de río. El río Guarapiche por entre las paredes de roca forma un hermoso cañón donde hay una poza de agua cristalina, ideal para un buen baño reconstituyente de agua fría. La ruta es de aprox. 1 y 1/2  horas a pié, ida y vuelta, y está a 45min de la finca (50km desde Caripe). Se recomienda llevar ropa de baño, toallas y zapatos que puedan sumergir en el agua, así como algún aperitivo para el camino. Al comienzo del sendero se encuentra el río más pequeño del mundo; lo llaman río “Mapurite”, nace de un gran manantial y desemboca a escasos metros en el río Guarapiche.

The Puertas de Miraflores are limestone rock walls of 150m high, located in the Miraflores sector, Acosta municipality of Monagas State. The route is approx. 1 and 1/2 hours on foot, round trip, and is 45min from the farm (50km from Caripe). It is recommended to bring swimwear, towels and shoes that can be submerged in the water, as well as some snacks for the road. At the beginning of the trail is the smallest river in the world; They call it the "Mapurite" river, it was born from a large spring and flows into the Guarapiche River a few meters away.miraflores.jpg
