Himalayan Cuties
I met these adorable little munchkins during my Annapurna trek. I can hardly call their home a village – it was no more than one modest hut along the well-beaten path. There was nothing for many kilometers on either side, so we stopped for a brief rest and a bit of chia *(tea – like the Indian 'chai', only slightly rearranged.)
These two, along with two others, were clearly fascinated by us. All four had chapped skin and crusty noses from living in such a harsh environment, but they didn't seem to mind.
This little fella in the red cap reminded me so much of Alfred E. Neuman – the kid from Mad Magazine. Can you see it?!
I had a lot of fun with them, despite being winded and tired from hours of hiking. Lots of giggles and big smiles!
