Beautiful Indian Girl
During my year-long journey through India and Nepal, I spent about 3 months in Varanasi. Though it was one of the most intense cities I've ever spent time in, I couldn't seem to make myself leave. It was (and, I'm sure, still is) so richly photogenic.
My camera and I got a lot of curious stares. This sweet girl, however, held nothing back, gifting me with both a smile and confident, unguarded gaze.

Thanks for sharing. Despite the internet being filled with great street photography, I still find it magical to look at the world through another's eyes. Intimate moments like you capture aren't always expressed through the photograph. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your post!
I appreciate that a lot, @unicornvomit! nice moniker, btw ;) And I agree – a lot of street photography feels quite peripheral.
I aim honor moments rather than capture them – to observe from the edges, without disrupting what I see, but also to engage enough with the subject that some truth of it is revealed – to then make a visual record of a fleeting, authentic moment that isn't about me. The more I'm able to remove myself, the more intimate the resulting image.

Isn't it such a special place? Even with the burning ghats and the ever-present reminders of our imminent death, there's something undeniably beautiful about it.

How hindus cleanse themself, by immersing in the water of the Ganges, so symbolically this is much the same... Must have been a year with plenty of evo and revolution
