zhu' Movie Review: Argo (2012), Awesome Historical American Movie
This movie is a classic historical thriller type film directed by the famous American movie star and director Ben Affleck in 2012. The film is based on a real story, and the director reproduces the little-known hostage crisis story in the late 1970s through documentary imagery. With excellent film language, editing techniques and other excellent artistic expressions, the film won the 85th Oscar for best film, best editing, and best adapted script. The film tells that on November 4, 1979, the Iranian revolutionary army attacked the US embassy in Tehran, Iran, and took the embassy staff hostage. More than 50 people were detained, but six escaped and hid in the home of Canadian Ambassador to Iran Ken Taylor. CIA executive Jack O'Donnell found expert Tony Mendez to help him bring the six people back to the United States.
After discussion, the CIA decided to take Tony's approach, in the name of filming. Tony went to Iran to bring the six people back. So he went to Iran as a producer with a script and various props, found the six people, and began the story of the arduous escape from Tehran. Film director Ben Affleck showed his solid and powerful lens scheduling ability in the film, from the beginning of the filming hostage to the manufacture of tension, and finally to the strong sense of reality that CIA agents entered the process of taking hostages away from Iran. They all show the outstanding standards of the film. For director Ben Affleck, the balance of complexity and fluency of the whole story is crucial to telling this profound subject. Therefore, under the lens of the film, the humorous and seriousness of the narrative alternates to promote the fluency and visibility of the story are well maintained.

In the polishing of the script, it is not difficult to see that the neatness and completion of the creation are quite high. The director did not use the gorgeous narrative method to adapt the story, but based on the conventional story structure and framework, looking for each in the framework. A node that can create conflicts and surprises. The tandem of these emotional nodes just happens to form a cyclical mood swing curve in the story advancement. It can be said that Ben Affleck's control over the rhythm of the film is accurate and in place. Facing a rescue story between a CIA agent and six hostages, the director has constructed a large story space between external conflicts and internal conflicts.
On one hand, the film confronts the Iranian official with the undercover team in the United States, and through repeated trials and answers of extreme oppression, the sense of tension and suffocation created by the dim tone makes the main contradiction in the film to the climax in silence. The moment of the explosion was particularly shocking, which is a very sophisticated way of shooting. On the other hand, director Ben Affleck calmly displayed the anxiety, conflict and dissonance within the six hostages. This internal controversy and external pressure coexist with extreme tension, coordinating and guiding the change of audience emotions. It can be said that the outstanding and unskilled structure of the play is an important factor in the success of the story.
