I am Zeid and Steemit Is My New Home
Hey everyone, hope y'all are doing great and enjoying your day. My name is Zeid and I have not introduced myself on Steemit platform officially until now. May be you might know me as @zeidlitwhips but it's time all on Steemit platform know me by face, transparency and honesty is key if you want to succeed in life.
I am from Kenya, in particular Nairobi the capital city. Kenya is a beautiful country with many tribes and different backgrounds, most of them are humble and really down to earth people. We all have our challenges but if we cooperate we achieve a lot together.
I am born and raised kenyan with a Persian background.
I have been a businessman in transport and logistics industry most my life but decided to take a different course a while ago and it's been the right call for me. I never knew or took interest in cryptocurrency till I joined steemit 2months ago and it's been great call and am loving the crypto world. Thanks to all great people in this great community in helping beginners like us make sense of the crypto world.
Yesterday I was with my kids in the southern coast of Kenya called DIANI and I said this is the perfect place to introduce myself on Steemit and people on the platform will get to see a part of Kenya which is beautiful and stunning.

As you saw my main picture on this post, don't be fooled I'm older than I look... Hehehe😁. I also didn't have a piece of paper to write my name on it and besides it was too windy anyway so I used my mobile device for display of name.
The pictures you see on this post I took them at a resort called Lantana Galu. I took my 2 daughters and we had a blast, sorry to all as I'm still not comfortable showing my family pictures but don't worry I'll get there.

As you can all see this place can be heaven with intoxicating beautiful beaches and amazing people from different backgrounds and believe me Kenyas hospitality in general is equal to none in the East Africa region as I have traveled a lot and seen plenty to make such a statement. I hope some of you will consider visiting Kenya and if you do just send me a comment whenever so we could plan a meet. Once I am more familiar with cryptos may be I can organize and attract more people from Kenya to join Steemit, this is my goal before we begin 2018.

This post maybe long but read it.
you are very much welcome to steemit,a one of its kind in the history of social networks. i will like to share with you some lessons i learnt the hard way.
First,write on your area of strength, don't struggle more to get topics to write on, but when you write based on what you know/do well at, that becomes your brand and fellow steemians will know what to expect from you on every post.
don't beg for followers.
When people follow you on a quip pro quo basis, that's the foundation of not getting upvotes and comments, because many of your followers didn't do so because they wanted what you have to offer but rather they are just there as numbers. #don't go for numbers, go for values.
When i joined, after my intro post. i went low key and started engaging with people on their posts and comments and like that,i was getting people that truly liked me for me. i must note that at some post as a newbie, i outrightly asked people to follow me and i will follow back, but that was before i learned that it was one of the unwritten rules of steemit; don't beg for followers.
Again,participate in contests, it will connect you to people and probably, earn you some steem/steem dollar. and always try to leave a good comment on people's posts. this dose wonders.
Finally, learn to engage. Get the esteem app on your phone so that after writing and posting with your pc,you can now use your phone to reply on the go. This will help you build your followers.

I really do appreciate this and you are right about begging for followers on Steemit or follow for follow is a big mistake as desperation only puts people off here. I will read the posts you mentioned and I have followed you for the reason of just being kind and straight forward with me, I like honest people such as yourself and I hope we will continue to be better friends henceforth. Welcome to Steem, @zeidlitwhips! It's great to meet people from all over the world and to learn about how they live their lives. Diani looks to be a beautiful and relaxing area. Africa is definitely on my list of places to visit.
You mentioned that you used to work in the transport and logistics industry but recently made a change. What are you doing for work now?
I hope that you post some pictures of Nairobi when you return home. I'd be interested in seeing what the capital city looks like.

Hey @braveboat, thanks for your comment. Yes Africa is beautiful and has a lot of amazing places to visit. I'm sure you've watched some wildlife documentaries too and in kenya we have the renowned Masai Mara game reserve where the great wilderbeast migration happens and other beautiful game reserves such as Amboseli. I will share Nairobi city pictures in one of my posts soon and will definitely tag you so you can look at it. Currently I'm in Warehousing because it's also my family business so we rent out warehouses and I'm trying to get into residential property rentals. It's a good line of work because the risks and
are low and the returns are way better. What line of work are you into if you don't mind me asking? Any time you want to come for a visit to Kenya just send me a message so I can give you all the right information on which places are great to visit and I will hook you up with the best hotel and national game reserves rates.
