Aubrieta deltoidea is a perennial flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region. It is one of the most widely-used garden flowers in North America and Europe, however it is also commonly used in gardens in warmer climates such as Florida, Mexico and California. The plant can be found from sea level to 4,000 feet (1,200 m) and prefers moist soil and partial sun.

Aubrieta deltoidea plants are propagated by seed or division which makes them an easy flower for beginners who are just starting their gardening journey. They require little maintenance but they do need water during dry spells. Aubrieta deltoides are best planted during the springtime when temperatures are cool with plenty of sunshine and all risk of frost has passed.

Aubrieta deltoidea plants consist of many different species and cultivars which grow anywhere from 6 inches to 16 inches in height. The plant produces small, purple flowers during the spring months which attract butterflies such as Painted Lady Butterflies and Swallowtail Butterflies.
