Artificial Inteligence. A dream that becomes reality or a nightmare that is about to emerge?

Hello, guys, the topic of today is about AI. There are a lot of cinematographic works talking about this concept. Intelligent machines that take over the human race, as in Matrix, Or sometimes they become victims of men, such as AI, "Artificial Intelligence".
Well, today I will not talk about science fiction but reality and focus on the progress made in this field and on the question ...
AI, hope or threat?
In the summer of 1956, in a small village located in New Hamshire, called Hanover, the Dartmouth College, was the theater of one of the most important conferences of the last century. 10 researchers would have spent two months discussing and sharing ideas on what we now know as Artificial Intelligence. A term that was coined by the organizer of the event, John McCarthy. The underlying idea was to develop computers that could somewhat simulate the human mind. On that occasion, one of the great themes that during the decades was the source of debate throughout the scientific community and which continues to be so in our day. But there is a misconception about the development of the IA, today's technology and far from being able to conceive machines capable of simulating consciousness, and human thought. But in fact since those years, technology has made giant passes and many think that it will not be too long for the day that a machine will be developed that can think, reason and communicate as we do. But let's move away from the imagination of a car similar to us in a futuristic world, but we are facing the progress that has just been achieved in this field. From 1960 onwards we have witnessed multiple technological revolutions. From self-regulated home appliances, autofocus cameras, then go to search engines, we have programs that can learn from the information we give or share with the network. Think of Siri of the iPhone, which recognizes your voice and responds to you or programs that can interact with our artistic, musical or simply intelligent tastes that make us see a product that we want. They are small steps but approach us to this future not too far. But on the horizon a danger is perceived, a car that is reasoning, able to do and elaborate its own thoughts, may dominate us one day.

My opinion is that it really depends.
We love to be afraid of the things we don't know, or the things we can't really control. We don't know how the AI will react when it gets to a very advanced level, and because of that, we are afraid of what might happen.
I never watched the Superman movies, but I know one thing he said, in a scene, to a general: "You're scared of me because you can't control me". I think that would be the case with AI. We are afraid of it because we may not be able to control it. We're obsessed with control.
I think the AI could be a great investment of time and energy, and could help us develop the entire human race in ways that we can't imagine. I do not say there won't be people trying to actually do bad things with the AI, but that's just how humans work. Some of them will actually try to recreate the world from the "Terminator" series.
My opinion is that we should not be afraid of the future. We should be prepared for it, but not afraid. The only way to advance, as a race, is to move forward, and creating an AI as smart as us may help humans in many ways. If we never try to evolve, no matter how afraid we are, we'll always be stuck at the same level.
If our ancestors would not have tried to discover things they were afraid of, we would still hunt animals to survive and live in a cave.

Once we have proper AI theyre going to take over the entire world
if a computer that could think and had emotions had access to our internet and could see how we treat each other and how we treat animals, it would wage war on us instantly

If we ever do create an AI with human like consciousness it's learning rate would probably be unbelievable. I think it would help us answer some of the questions we still have about the universe/existence rather than take over humanity like so many AI films portray.
Your post is very interesting, since in this century we can start to see the stories of Asimov become reality. In the book Yo robot, we can see how they pose 3 laws of robotics that somehow try to control a possible failure of these artificial intelligences. However what gives a little fear, is that there is always the possibility that this technology will get out of control. As happened in the book. Nice post, I folllow you. I hope to see you soon

The future advancement of AI is definitely a concern for people. I would say it is something I am cautious about too. But, going off of the post, theoretically, AI can develop into the complete "opposite", if you would, of an outcome. We can easily say AI can turn evil, but that's because us as humans are survivors and we can't help but be overly cautious about AI (which essentially can be taken as another race rising up). With that being said, I think that Human Intelligence is what we should be cautious about, and how we continue to put our collective intelligence into developing AI. The right inputs, will continue to develop the right outputs.
