If you are looking for best cryptocurrency coins to invest its may be very difficult to decide, some time it's very confusing which cryptocurrency is best to invest when you compare different cryptocurrency coins or platforms ,there are some basic things to consider when you search for most promising cryptocurrency coin for long term investment,when you check coinmarketcap.com
First Check ranking of cryptocurrency by total marketcap ,daily trading volume, current supply and total supply,social media following, users reviews and comments, you can see website of that cryptocurrency and at website you can find more details about it,which team behind this project and who is founder, what problem they try to solve currently which working products or services they offered and also check roadmap about future developments
 

After cheking all above things I think following cryptocurrency coins and projects are best for long term investment, but please remember it's my own thoughts and opinion do your own research before making any decision
 

• Bitcoin
Currently there are more then 2100 cryptocurrencies but Bitcoin is king of all cryptocurrencies its number one cryptocurrency by total market value, bitcoin is created by sathoshi nakamoto yen years ago it is still most popular and dominant cryptocurrency,mostly other cryptocurrencies are dependent on bitcoin for price movements if bitcoin goes up all cryptocurrencies are goes up if bitcoin goes down all cryptocurrencies goes down because almost all exchanges used  bitcoin as base currency against other cryptocurrencies ,currently bitcoin price is $.3770 per coins it's all time high is more then $.19000 ,many investors and cryptocurrency enthusiast predict bitcoin can go up to $.50000 due to its limited supply and good demand and rapotation

• Ethereum
Ethereum is started by vitalik buterin its second most popular cryptocurrency after bitcoin, ethereum is best platform for smart contracts and Dapp applications there are many competitors of ethereum like ,EOS,TRX tron,Neo,Cardano and ethereum classic but ethereum is still holding its top position, it's also have some scaling and other development issues but ethereum team are working on its if these issues resolved like slow transaction speed, network conginction then ethereum may have more value than bitcoin in future because there are hundreds of dapps on ethereum blockchain ,currently its price is $.130 it can go up to $.10000 per coins because its still number one dapp platform

XLM stellar is a competitor of Ripple Xrp but I preferred stellar over ripple I think stellar have good team behind it and it's also backed by some well known companies like IBM ,stellar with good transaction speed and low fee can overtakes ripple xrp future its total supply is also less than ripple and it's also more decenterlized than ripple ,ripple is centerlized ,stellar is at number 6 on coinmarketcap by total market value it's have better technology and it's own blockchain ,currently there are some active dapps on stellar blockchain for example Smartlands SLT ,in future more dapps are built on stellar blockchain and its price can go to $.10 from its current price $.0.11 per coin that's why its best for long term HODL

Tron is created by justin sun ,tron trx is lunched on ethereum blockchain in start then its launched its own main net, Justin sun is very famous in cryptocurrency community he have good social media following that's why he marketing tron very aggressively, tron is growing very fast many dapps are running on tron blockchain now it's now direct competitor of ethereum, with very fast transaction speed and low fee and also with better technology than ethereum tron can replace ethereum in future its possible because tron is growing very fast and its backed by a huge community ,tron total supply is very large its very cheap now currently it's at $0.25 bu if tron get massive adoption it can go upto $.1 per coin

• Cardano
Cardano is very advanced fourth generation cryptocurrency platform its still under development, Cardano has a long development roadmap many things are going to happen in future, Cardano have good community support and also a nice team behind it ,many investors believe Cardano is best for long term investment and HODL
