Recent fossil discoveries suggest that large brains may have developed unintentionally and could potentially shrink in the future.

Many people assume that Albert Einstein had a large brain due to his extraordinary intellect. However, it turns out that his brain was actually smaller than average. This challenges the common belief that big brains are essential for human success. Recent discoveries have revealed that small-brained human species not only survived but also displayed advanced behaviors. This has led scientists to question why evolution favored big brains when smaller brains seemed sufficient for survival.

Research indicates that brain expansion may have initially been an accidental trait that then triggered further changes, resulting in continued growth. Surprisingly, the same changes responsible for brain expansion could also explain a recent 10% reduction in human brain size. This implies that our brains may continue to shrink, potentially leading to the downfall of humanity.
