This Is An Amazing Mobile App

A few days back I was complaining about why it was so difficult for me to use eSteem App. Because of my weak eye-sights and with no option to increase the font size in the app, it was putting a strain on my eyes. My prayers seem to be answered now …not by eSteem but with the launch of a brand new and a more wonderful mobile app called bSteem.

@bsteemapp has got just the right font size I needed. What’s more, it’s loaded up with several wonderful features which were not present in any other front-end so far. Every new app brings up some unique features which make accessing Steem blockchain more interesting and amazing experience for us.

I’d like to congratulate @jm90mm for coming up with such a versatile mobile app which is available for Android as well as iOS devices since day-1. I don't know, what does the “b” in bSteem stand for. May be it’s the first letter “b” of Busy as @jm90mm also work for Busy.

Very Functional & Intuitive UI

bSteem has a very simple and intuitive interface. It has got a Dark theme too for night viewing. If you want some fancy coloured themes, it also provides the option to customize your own colour theme according to your choice. It makes browsing very comfortable and pleasant. There is a feature to customize your feed with your preferred tags. You can star and save the tag. Similarly, you can also save any user or their post too.

You can also filter the Trending & New feeds according to people you Follow. This app makes a good use of swiping on the screen. You can switch from browsing to creating a new post to your own blog merely by swiping left to right or vice-versa on the mobile screen.

While browsing posts, you need not open the whole post for watching that tempting video in the thumbnail. Just clicking on the the video itself, you can watch it. Similarly, if a post has many images and you just want to browse its photographs, you can just click on the thumbnail and all the images of the post can be browsed as in an image gallery (though these can’t be auto-rotated as in gallery). You can also share these with any app in your phone like Whatsapp, Discord, Telegram, email, Messenger etc. Similarly, you can also share your post in these apps by merely clicking on the share button.

If you don’t want to see those images in the post preview, you can click on “Report” and it will be reported. This will squeeze that post preview without any image and video. If you want to see the complete preview, you can just click on the link at bottom which says “Display post preview”. You can also unreport the Reported posts from your settings. However I didn’t find this Reporting feature much useful as it is post specific. You can always enable compact view in your settings (or clicking an icon meant for it on top of the feed), if you wish to browse it that way.

Features Galore

It was always difficult for me to search for the vote of a specific voter from the long list of voters on a post. bSteem makes it super easy. When you see the list of votes on a post, it also gives you an option to sort the list by Vote Value, Reputation Score, Time of Vote or Alphabetical Order in a click.

You also have an option to copy a Busy link or a Steemit link for your post. So you can share as per requirement of the other user too.

There is also a personal messaging feature integrated in the app. You can send messages to any user through it.

Of course, there are other features like saving Drafts of your posts, Wallet transfer with the help of SteemConnect login, current market price of Steem & SBD with positive & negative market trends (in BTC as well as USD), multiple language support for the app, Voter slider, Vote Value and Voting Power indicator, bookmarking (Saving) a post for future reference, auto-search suggestions while searching for a user or tag, enabling or disabling NSFW content and many more features which you will find out yourself when using this app.

Yep, It Does Need To Improve...

Yes, it does lack some features as of now. But the work on adding more features is on the way. And with the number of features available on its launch, it looks like it will get new updates frequently. What’s more, you need not download updates from the app store again and again as bSteem is configured to receive Over The Air updates.

The most important feature unavailable at the moment is Notifications. There are some smaller bugs too. E.g. I don’t know any way to find out what the component of my author reward was and how much curation reward was paid out from the total rewards on a post after 7 days. I’ve also encountered the problem of some overlapping of words and some incomplete words in tags & usernames. But since I had already talked about this with the creator of this app; I guess, I need to explain it in detail with a dedicated post on it. I’ll try to do it soon.

And did I share the most important fact about bSteem yet? Unlike many other apps like dTube, dMania, eSteem, Zappl etc., bSteem DOES NOT take any beneficiary reward share from authors. It’s totally free and is meant to be like that in future too.
