#gratefulvibes - ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE - A Tribute For My Father

Stumbled upon this community challenge courtesy of @paradise-found through @papa-pepper and thought it was a wonderful idea.

Here is my humble contribution to this challenge:

Not a lot of people know this but for reasons I will no longer bore you with, my dad and I had a falling out a while back. Or maybe estranged is the better term; we became estranged some time ago and hadn’t started speaking again until a couple of years back, when my niece, Olivia, was born. For two people who looked exactly alike, we couldn’t be more distant, and dissonant towards each other.

Fast forward to today and my dad is one of my greatest source of strength and the only man I couldn’t bear not being in my life. He makes me proud every day knowing how hard he works, how loving he is to his one and only granddaughter, and what a wonderful human being he is not only to his own family but to his friends and patients as well. He is effortlessly funny, has a big heart, and an easygoing personality.

I am writing this to let the world know how grateful I am to have him as my father, in spite of everything we’ve been through.

I love you, Dad. I want you to know that I cherish you every single day. And I couldn’t be more proud of the person, the father, and the “Andad” you have become. Cheers!
