The God who opens roads
God has power to open roads even where there are none; as we will study it through this Word, taking as an example the people of Israel next to the Red Sea, when he divided it in two so that his people crossed it in dry. Let's see it.
THE SITUATION.
A. ACAMPARON FOR DIVINE ORDER .
Israel by order of God temporarily encamped by the Red Sea (v. 1, 2).
The purpose was to see the glory of God (verses 4, 17, 18).
God had commanded them to camp in Pi-hahirot, by the Red Sea for Him to glorify Himself.
The people did so in obedience to the voice of God.
B. REACHED BY THE PHARAOH .
God hardened Pharaoh's heart.
To glorify himself (verses 4, 17, 18): to demonstrate his great power (Psalm 74: 13, 106: 7-9).
To demonstrate that it is the I AM JEHOVAH (v. 4, 18): to demonstrate its great Power (Psalm 74: 13, 106: 7-9).
REFLECTION: what God allows in our lives is for Him to glorify (John 11: 4) and to know that He is the great I Am: Jehovah (YHVH).
C. TRAPPED, CLOSED, CLOSED, IN AN ALLEY WITHOUT DEPARTURE AND AT A CROSSROAD (Vr 9, 10).
BACK: Pharaoh and his army
TO THE FRONT: The Red Sea
ON THE SIDES: rocky and swampy places.
REFLECTION: sometime in life we have felt this way.
- -THE OPTIONS
A. TO SURRENDER AGAINST THE EGYPTIANS
Had God taken them out and freed them to return again to Pharaoh?
Do not give up, do not faint, do not give up, or throw in the towel! (2 Corinthians 4: 8, 9)
B. FIGHT AGAINST THE EGYPTIANS
Were they ready? Did God want it? (Exodus 13: 17,18; 14: 14, 25) There are times when we have to fight (Exodus 17: 9,10,13, Deuteronomy 1: 41, Nehemiah 4: 14, 1 Timothy 6: 12, 2 Timothy 4: 7) and there are also times when God decides to fight for us (2 Chronicles 20: 17, 29).
When God fights for His people, it is a sure victory: Jehovah Sabaoth, the God of the Armies of Heaven; He who fights and fights for us (Exodus 15: 13; 2 Chronicles 20: 14-17, 29).
C. MARCH EVEN IF THE RED SEA WAS TO THE FRONT.
March (Hs. Nasa): pull up, start a journey, start, move, depart, pass, get out, come, move forward, move forward (DHH), do not stop. This was God's option for His people at that time (verse 15).
It is true that God had asked them to camp by the Red Sea (verse 1), but it is also true that now God commanded them to leave (verse 15) It is time to march and move forward even if the Red Sea is in front! (Joshua 6: 5, 20, Philippians 3:13, Hebrews 10: 39, Proverbs 30: 30).
- -THE ATTITUDES
A. FEAR IN GREAT WAY (Vr 10)
Fear (Mr. Yare): frighten (PDT), intimidate, frighten, fear (NIV).
They had left Egypt with a powerful or high hand (v. 8): with courage, confidence and without fear; however, they were very afraid here (Exodus 15: 9).
REFLECTION: the biblical secret to overcome fear is to be confident that God is with us (Isaiah 41: 10).
B. CALLED JEHOVAH (Vr 10)
Cry (hb. Tasac): give a heartrending scream, shout, implore, lament, complain, Prayer (PDT), ask for help (DHH).
Scared but they cried out to God and were heard (Nehemiah 9: 9).
REFLECTION: God listens to us even in extreme situations (Genesis 21:17, Jonah 2: 1, 2, 1 Chronicles 4: 9,10).
C. QUESTIONED AND MURMURED (Vr 11, 12)
They blamed Moses and Aaron
Hopelessness and ingratitude
They thought the worst (death)
They despised the deliverance God had given them.
They forgot a great truth: "it is better to live like men of God to the ceiling in the desert, than slaves of the Egyptians among the furnace of Fire".
They rebelled and turned their backs on God (Psalm 106: 7-12).
REFLECTION: how many times in situations like this have we acted like this?
4.- THE WORD
A. NO THEMES
fear (Yb) Yare: frighten, fear (NIV), fear (PDT), frighten, scare.
REFLECTION: the Red Sea crosses without fear
B. BE FIRM
Firm (hb. Yatsáb): stay in position (NIV), stop to see what God will do (PDT), place anything to stay, wait, park, resist, hold, stand, endure, firmness.
REFLECTION: it is not easy to stand firm in situations like these, but it is when we are most firm (Joshua 3: 17, 1 Corinthians 15: 58, 2 Thessalonians 2: 15).
C. LOOK AT JEHOVAH'S SALVATION TODAY (Vr 13c, 30)
Salvation (Jesus Yeshua): liberation, help, victory, prosperity, triumph.
REFLECTION: God has a TODAY of Salvation, victory, blessing, healing for his people and is the day that God has already chosen (Psalm 106: 7-12).
D. NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY SEE THE EGYPTIANS (Vr 13d)
As it happened "NEVER AGAIN" they saw them at least alive again (verses 23-28, 30) (Exodus 15: 4-10, 12,19, 21; Psalm 106: 7-12).
REFLECTION: what torments us today, steals peace, joy, etc., will never do it again (Isaiah 60:18, Joel 2: 20)
E. JEHOVAH WILL FIGHT FOR YOU (verses 14a, 25).
Fight (hb. Lakjám): consume, battle, attack, fight, fight, fight, eat (Numbers 14: 9).
REFLECTION: There is a powerful God who does the battles for us (Exodus 15: 3, Deuteronomy 1: 30, 3:22, 2 Chronicles 20: 15-18, Nehemiah 4:20, Psalm 24: 5).
F. YOU WILL STAY QUIETLY .
Quiet (Shabát): remain silent (BA), rest, rest, peace, quiet, do not worry.
REFLECTION: we do not succeed in despairing, becoming upset, anguish and frighten us: on the contrary we can get sick so it is best to be calm (2 Chronicles 20: 17) In the stillness God also glorifies himself (1 Kings 19: 11-19, Psalm 37 : 7: Isaiah 30: 15, Zechariah 2: 13, Habakkuk 2:20, Zephaniah 1: 7, Revelation 8: 1). Tranquility is not synonymous with resignation, staying arm crossed, etc.
5.-THE COMPANY
A. THEY CROSSED THE RED SEA WITH THE BEST COMPANY: the divine one (v. 19, 20).
B. THE CLOUD AND FIRE COLUMN: visible means used for protection, security, shadow, light and a sign of the presence of God (Exodus 13: 20-22; Nehemiah 9: 12, 19).
REFLECTION: we will not cross the waters, the seas, or the rivers alone, but with the best company, that of our God sovereign and powerful God (Joshua 3: 1-17, Isaiah 43: 2).
CONCLUSION: in these moments of corraling, crossroads and impasse there is a powerful God who will give us the way out and open roads even where there are none (Joshua 3: 17, Psalm 77: 19, Isaiah 11: 16, 43: 16, 17). Let's keep going! Let's go! If God opened the Red Sea to His people Israel; it will also open it to His church today: remember that He is the same as yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13: 8).
Also not only opens roads, Mares as we studied; It also opens rivers (Joshua 39-17, Psalm 66: 6), doors (Isaiah 60:11), heavens (Malachi 3:10, Matthew 3: 16, Acts 7:56) and when He opens no one can close and when it closes no one can open (Isaiah 22:22, Revelation 3: 7). Today perhaps we are cornered, locked up, in a dead end, at a crossroads; calm that our God is expert in opening roads even where there are none.
Isaiah 43: 16-21 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the impetuous waters;
he who draws chariot and horse, army and force; they fall together so as not to get up; they disappear, as a wick they are extinguished.
Do not remember the past things, nor remind the ancient things.
Behold, I do a new thing; it will soon come to light; Will you not know it? Again I will open a path in the desert, and rivers in solitude.
The beasts of the field will honor me, the jackals and the ostrich chickens; I will give waters in the desert, rivers in solitude, so that my people may drink, my chosen one.
This town I created for myself; my praises will be published.

Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I do a new thing; it will soon come to light; Will you not know it? Again I will open a path in the desert, and rivers in solitude. Let us cry out to God and let our actions work and he will open the roads.

Our God is who goes before us as a mighty giant, opening paths of blessing, we must not fear any evil, he says that it is a shield to those who walk righteously, if we walk in righteousness we have confidence in Him. Excellent inspiring teaching, God bless
How great and how powerful our God is. He does unusual things, what we do not expect, what transpires our thoughts, He provides the way out, opens the way and grants us victory. Today He is still God and in the midst of those crossroads where we find ourselves as between the sword and the wall he provides for his children a glorious way out, being exalted before our enemies.
