DailyCelestialChallenge-Thursday-ForcesNature
Hello, my dear community, my entry to the contest @sirknight, DailyCelestialChallenge-Thursday-ForcesNature.
On this occasion I chose a theme from a national park called El Guacharo.
El Guácharo National Park is a national park of Venezuela located in the eastern section of the Serrania del Interior of the Caripe Mountain System, in the Cerro Negro, Cerro Papelón and Cerro El Periquito mountain ranges of the Caripe Massif, between the state of Monagas.
It is made up of two separate units or blocks: Cerro Negro, where the Guácharo Cave is located, and the Middle River Basin of the Caripe River. The Park covers 62,700 ha; which are distributed as follows, the Cerro Negro sector corresponds to 15,500 ha. and that of the Middle Basin of the Caripe River 47,200 ha. It was declared El Guácharo National Park on May 27, 1975 to guarantee the continuity of the geological and biological processes that are carried out in the Guácharo Cave. For its part, Cerro Negro, where the Cueva del Guácharo is located, was the first Natural Monument in Venezuela on July 15, 1949, with the name of Alejandro de Humboldt.
One of the outstanding features of this monument is that it serves as a habitat for the Guácharo (Steatornis caripensis), a bird with nocturnal habits adapted to live in darkness, which only leave the cave at twilight and nocturnal times when they go out in search of food. Also live in this ecosystem some bats, insects, rodents, arachnids and coleoptera.
