Slate (SLTC) - The Developer's Platform and Cryptocurrency

Hello everyone! My name is Josh, and I am one of the development team members for a new project, Slate. I want to introduce the project to you and hopefully convince you that it is worth following for the long term! Slate is both a platform and a cryptocurrency.

To start off, I would like to talk about the platform. Slate attempts to bridge the gap between developers, specifically blockchain developers, and the people that need their services. As you probably know already, blockchain development is one of the most important and growing fields in modern technology. Because of this, developer services are in huge demand. However, as I have seen in various projects, sometimes these developers are very difficult to find. But they are out there! Just ask around in your favorite local Discord group - there are a lot of developers around. They are often hesitant to offer their services though, as there is often no true guarantee of payment and nothing to protect them if the person that needs their service decides to drop them completely.

That is where the Slate platform comes in.
Our platform is being built with the idea of making the experience as smooth and secure as possible. Using either Paypal or our cryptocurrency, you can order developer's services or post your own services. All payments are held into an escrow until both parties are satisfied. If both parties are not satisfied, the Slate team can get involved to make sure the result is fair. If you put your services on our website, you can be sure that you will be paid for your work. If you hire a developer on our website to do services for you, we can guarantee you will get what you pay for. It works for everyone!

Check out the alpha of our platform here: https://slateapp.net/ . The alpha platform does not yet have the Slate blockchain integrated, only Paypal for now. However, we are hard at work testing the beta, which will have the blockchain integrated! We already have basic working web wallets, and we have begun to test using the currency on our website. Some things on the alpha may be broken, so please let us know in the feedback if you find anything not working. However, the platform is fully functional as of now, and you can order services or post your developer credentials now!

Now, for information about the Slate cryptocurrency.

Slate chain (SLTC) is a proof-of-work, proof-of-stake, and masternode coin. It is based on the lyra2z algorithm, which makes it more energy efficient to mine than many other coins. It has proof-of-work and masternode rewards until roughly block 25,001, at which point it will switch to proof-of-stake with masternode rewards only. As of this post, we are currently on block 5429, but you can check the current block on our explorer: https://slatecore.blockxplorer.info/ . At this point, mining rewards 20 SLTC per block found, but half of the rewards go to masternode holders. After it switches to proof-of-stake, the rewards will vary by block, which you can check out later. We built the Slate blockchain with the intention of using it on our platform, so the blockchain is as secure and fast as possible, using all of the latest blockchain technology.
