Fifty runs till May #45
Run #45/50 - 90%: ✔
I did not plan to be running with my neighboors today as we usually run in the mornings. However today we went to the zoo in the morning with the kids and as both neighboors had appointments for brunch we actually all happened to be available in the afternoon for running.
I didn't take any pictures during my run today, so here is a collage of some pictures I took on my previous runs along similar paths to reminisce what I'm missing at the moment
- Weather: 5 degrees with strong winds
- Distance: 11,3 kilometers
- Time: 1 hour and 7,5 minutes
- Pace: 5:59 min/km
- Training Effect: 4,5 = Overreaching
The devastation of the hurricane that hit us on Wednesday was still very evident when we set off late in the afternoon today. We'd been discussing which way to go as quite a few paths were still blocked with fallen trees. In the end we settled on the part that I did on Thursday with some spontaneous changes to keep in interesting and also to get as close to the 11km that we usually do.
The way was pretty tough and started with a steep climb, then we reached the open fields and we were hit by strong winds. For that reason alone we did the forrest part twice. All in all, it was a good run under difficult conditions and we all hope that the main route will be cleared soon, so that we can go on our normal paths again.
It seems that Garmin is also having some issues today, so I can't post a screenshot of my training details today, but I did manage to get these stats and screenshot from the Garmin app:
If you follow 2-7 chronologically, you see that we did that part twice
5 runs to go, here's my schedule until now and my plan for the last 5 runs:
You can follow this and all my other activities on the official Garmin site here.
Thanks for your support and stay fir, keep running!

Keep it up! I ran today in about 6 inches of snow. Although it was much warmer than it has been. I did chronicle my 0 degree run for you on my blog last week. Hope those winds die down for you. There is nothing worse than running into wind, although it does feel great on your back. haha.
Totally agree! Wind in the back is nice, wind from the side, combined with rain is horrible. I'll have a look at your post. Thanks!
Hello and congrats!
Ps: I did something that I wanted to do for a long time. I joined your challenge :)
Here is my first entry.

What do you think about my post Wolfje, its different from yours?
I like them, more about your daily life in the big city ... a diary. What area do you live in? I used to live in London several years ago.
I dont live in London, Im from staffordshire. Where do you live now?
Now I live in Switzerland. I've left London over 8 years ago
Do you like it there, alot of my friends have moved there to get away from the UK taxes lol.
It's fantastic, you can't get me away from here anymore. Quality of life is fantastic here.
Nice workout! And almost the end! How do you plan to motivate yourself after the fiftyrunstillmay challenge ?
Thanks, I'm thinking of doing a marathon before my 40th birthday. I'll do a post about it after I've finished my 50 runs.
Nice! That's a good goal :)
The pictures portrays that the path you run on is very beautiful..
