WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

According to the Wikipedia;
"Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work." Source
So it simply means to write or present someone's else work or ideas without giving them credit and act like that you owe them.
A person who commits plagiarism is called a Plagiarist

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM:-

1.GLOBAL PLAGIARISM:

Presenting or stealing someone's else whole assignment or theory without giving them any credit is called Global plagiarism.

2. DIRECT PLAGIARISM:

Direct plagiarism means taking someone else’s ideas or work and claiming them as your own, without citation. Even if you change a couple words here and there.

3. MOSAIC OR PATCHWORK PLAGIARISM:

This means when a person may have given the credit(citation) to the real writer or thinker but may have not acknowledged it correctly.
This type of plagiarism is difficult to find.

4.SELF PLAGIARISM:

Self plagiarism means when a person copies his or her work and paste it to the other site without mentioning the original work.

5.VERBATIM PLAGIARISM:

When a person copies the text of another person,but not uses the quotation marks and attribution.

6. ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM:

If the person does not cite the source correctly or misquote from the original text is called Accidental plagiarism.

WAYS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM:-

• Firstly if we are writing someone elses text or ideas so it is our duty to quote them and do citation.
• Do research on the topics as much as you can do and then write about it.
• Use Plagiarism checking application inorder to catch Plagiarist.
