Invisible addictions.

Many may never have suffered from an addiction in their lives, but what I am sure of is that in one way or another, those who have not experienced it directly have also felt its effects, even if indirectly through a family member, friend or acquaintance.
An addiction, although harmful to the sufferer, is more common than anyone could think; it is something as simple as the excess of one thing. These behaviors, let's call them so, are harmful in the long run, something that I was told as a child and that I later found difficult to understand. Science typifies them as disorders or behaviors that generate negative consequences in the individual, and the reality is that this is very true.
Recognizing that these behaviors generate adverse effects is not the only thing that is required to avoid them, especially when we tend to think that by recognizing the damage we can control it, something all too common in human beings. The worst thing is that this behavior is always accompanied by the inability to stop the activity or avoid the substance.
We almost always associate these disorders to common problems such as the consumption of harmful substances such as alcohol, tobacco and drugs, and even to activities such as gambling or risk-taking, but the reality is that any activity, no matter how simple it may seem, can generate an addiction.
Playing any sport, mainly extreme or contact sports; playing video games; eating any type of food, speeding or feeling the need to use any additive, such as those that come in little brown bottles or sachets and that serve to increase energy and physical performance; and that for marketing reasons, only claim that they contain vitamins, could become an addiction and generate this serious disorder from which many, unfortunately, cannot escape just by identifying it. I am grateful that in my time I was able to open my eyes in time and quit.
Many years ago, in my adolescence, I remember becoming addicted to video games. Before any console game that represented some difficulty or mental challenge, I was always trying to figure it out, so much so that I used to spend hours disconnected from the outside world; it was like being transported to that fantasy world.
Most addiction problems require the support of friends and family to overcome them and, in more serious cases, even professional help to prescribe medication.

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗
Addiction to video games is something that is currently wreaking havoc on youth. In addition, this element is added where they challenge the child.
I have known of many deaths due to the poor completion of these video game challenges.
I'm glad you were able to get out of that addiction. We have so many bad habits in life that we don't realize when we are addicted.
Of course, my friend. From bad habits is that addictions come, anyone thinks that because an activity, in theory is not harmful, can not become an addiction, because it turns out and it happens that much of something is what causes them, mainly with that mania that we all have in believing we can control so many circumstances. I didn't want to write it clearly in the publication, but I have noticed that there are young men who have become addicted to vitaferm... I can't even imagine the harm they do to themselves in the long run, and so many other things my friend, like those who become addicted to adrenaline, that seems to me even more dangerous, because sometimes they even put at risk those who have nothing to do with them.
This is almost always the first thing that comes to mind when we talk about addiction.
That's right, my friend. Those are the first situations that come to mind, but the truth is that there are many more that are sometimes overlooked.
Not every bit of truth can be seen on the surface
You forgot to mention addiction to medication! (plastic surgery, silicones, the medical world thrives very well by talking people sick) Interesting that didn't come to mind.
And what to think about drinking coffee and cola? The screen addics, phones causing headaches and brainrot? I see babies in strollers holding a phone!
And AI... Not able to think yourself
🍀♥️
You're absolutely right. You find it incredible that I didn't think of that, and the truth is, I find it incredible that I didn't include it. I think the world of addiction is so vast that I simply went down one path and omitted many others.
Cell phones were an evil that arrived many years ago and are here to stay. The headaches and problems they cause, along with the poor use of their benefits, are the hidden side of that coin. It's sad to see how children today seem to have been born with a cell phone in their hands, something that will surely bring many problems in the future. And well, regarding the use of AI, it's very sad to see how there are people who are incapable of using their brains to solve such simple and common problems. However, many things depend on perspective. For example, I use them to generate images. What does that make me? I often question myself about it.
I recently saw a video about how they automate actions through software and AI, implementing cell phone farms capable of performing unpredictable logical sequences... My mind is unable to comprehend the scope that this will have in the future.
For a longer period I joined the contest the community Italy held: generating a picture with a prompt and of course an iriginal not too obvious one. If you do this seriously you will learn a lot about AI, how it's programmed and if you are a good observer you also see the mistakes it makes.
You learn hiw to give commands, think like a computet if 1 0 or 00 or 11 or 01.
I saw a tiddler with a smartphone the other day and I asked myself why not a toy? I doubt new generations are able to think (this is already visible, same counts fir teachers) but no surorise. We live in the age of busy & boring where there is no room for creativity, hobbies & skills and more and more oeople can hardly read.
A great day!
🍀♥️
