Contest - week 9 - “Let's talk about an addiction” / Concurso- semana 9 - «Hablemos sobre una adicción»
This week's contest theme is: “Let's talk about an addiction.”

“Let's talk about...” takes place every week with different themes. It consists of making a creative post; you can write a personal story about the theme.
In addition to posting about the topic, you should try to communicate with other users. Make interesting comments so that everyone gets involved in the responses. Just saying “thank you” is not enough; it cuts off communication.
Follow a thread of comments, focusing on what you like most about the other participating user. Don't forget this point: the more you comment, the more chances you have of winning this contest. Making interesting comments encourages other commenters to participate.
This week we'll talk about addiction... Tell us a story that caught your attention about addiction... a story you've seen on TV, in the movies, in your family, or among your neighbors. A story about someone who has lived with, suffered from, or whom you've seen with an addiction.
Free your mind! The more original you are, the more points you will earn.
This contest is about creativity, not whether things are true, real, or probable for someone. Bring out the creative and fun writer in you.
The post must be at least 150 words long and include as many photos as you want.
They can be your own photographs or photographs from pages permitted on the platform, free of copyright. (Pixabay, for example.)
Let's have fun and follow the rules!

I have read so much about addictions; there are so many types. All of them are dangerous to human beings because an addiction is a toxic element, harmful to the proper functioning of the body.
I will talk specifically about the bad habit of smoking...
I have seen how young people, especially, are currently addicted to vaping. The way the smoking industry has been able to create a new image with current technology is that smoking toxic products with these devices gives you class and status.

smoker
From there, young people who are addicted to following the crowd in fashion have taken up this habit without wasting time finding out whether it is beneficial or not. It cannot be possible that, after so many years of warnings that smoking is harmful, some people believe that smoking with new devices introduced by the tobacco industry could be less toxic than smoking without the vaporizer in question.
It is very unfortunate how lives that could have been useful in everyday life are being lost simply because of smoking with vaporizers.
There are many references to how respiratory infections, functional respiratory disabilities, and deaths have increased due to the abuse of vaporizers with toxic gases from hydrocarbons, metals, and other harmful compounds.
Share an experience you have had with an addiction that you think would be useful to mention in this contest, and that would allow us to comment on it.
#Invite your friends if you prefer.
#The contest will remain open for 7 days until the publication is paid for.

For sure the industry but also the government has a big finger in smoking. It's a nice income they make with the taxes.
Vaping by the way is forbidden with us. It causes more cancer than smoking.
If it comes to smoking I don't like and I find it a bad thing that non smokers are confronted with it and studies show that non smokers living with smokers have more cancer as well. Strange, but I call that alarming (no matter who poisoned the cigarettes).
Good luck with the contest.

I don't think drig is really bad if we want to view in government mentality. Maybe anyone with uniforms are free to smoke but the civilians are no allowed. What are we deceiving?

Of course you can smoke, buy, smoke, buy, chew, they don't care. The more you pay, the higher the taxes the better for the gov. They suffer from inflation as well.
By the way, with us smokers you mainly find among low educated, not too smart people in what we call anti social behaviour areas.
The incidence of cancer has increased dramatically with the use of vaporizers.
Smoking in itself is harmful. Now the industry, the government, and all those who live thanks to human detriment, have joined in encouraging an increase in the habit of consumption and inhalation of toxic tobacco smoke and its compounds.
Both young people and older adults are falling into this bad habit.
It is alarming if, every time I see someone in this habit, future images of that person in bed and suffering come to my mind. I can't help it.
Smoking was promoted by doctors (see youtube) and vaporizing is also allowed by governments which makes me think.
All smokers promote the bad habit of smoking. I have seen many colleagues crying when they are on the verge of death from smoking.
I was also a smoker, but I tell no one to continue smoking or start doing so.
As long as I live I will always tell about all the lung damage that this causes.
I don't usually regret the things I do, because nothing can be done with regret, but I can say with my testimony that smoking is one of the most stupid, harmful and toxic vices in the world.
I belueveva dictor should live hralthy. If you cannot do that you cannot advice others.
I find it a bit hard to belueve in that verybshort time vapo exists the cancer increased that dramatically.
There is way more, if not everything, that causes cancer to start bit everything Big Pharma sells and the overdose of vacvins hoven to kuds, microwaves, cellphones you name it. All dangerous for the health (and all those senders, transmitters, receivers.) We have the cancer triggers: wind turbines, millions of batteries and the poison in solar cells.
All big business and no way Big Pharma's intention is healthy people only.
Besides if this everyone is responsible for his/her life. We can not blame lack of education for ignoring facts. So if those being addicted (alcohol, medication, drugs, smoking, e-sigarets, vapers?, glue inhalers etc) continue the way they do it's their choice and their responsibility and they should pay the costs as well. Also if they put the health of oartner/children in danger. I don't find that an entire sociery should pay for the fun and lifestyle of those who never cared about them and put them in danger. Smokers ruled lives, the world with anti social behaviour and I am truly relieved that after a life if not being able to sit somewhere smoke free it's now forbidden to smoke everywhere.
It still smells terible though especially those chemicals. No idea what makes people think it's cool or they are healthy. Who knows it's popular because of a lack of social connections — is sucking a substitute for the real humans they miss.

I do not agree that a person who is not healthy cannot advise another. You can advise when you can, if it really comes from the heart. Not in a hypocritical way. No one knows the reason for a person's addiction.
They have done many studies on the incidence of cancer in young people who use vapers. Perhaps it is too early for the majority of those in power to accept the results provided by independent and isolated studies, but what is certain is that deaths from respiratory diseases have increased, no one can deny it.
The result of technology is exposure to radiation that is imperceptible to humans but that the body does capture, sensitize, attack, colonize and unleash diseases that we do not even suspect of the origin. Cell phones, electronics, electrical devices, etc. They all have compounds that are harmful to humans in the long run.
I live near oil refineries, it helps me that I am close to the sea, rivers and a lot of vegetation, but the refineries gradually contaminate the environment and the long-term consequences are terrible. But economic power is in charge.
The way people are smoking makes it look like it does nothing for their health. Sometimes I begin to wonder what they taught me in school about drug abuse. What the hell is going on? So we have been deceived in school. They will tell us the government is to maintain peace and others, but the same people are the ones encouraging it.
Does that really make sense? Sometimes I think school should teach the reality instead of loading us with notebook knowledge...

It is the power of money, it is the desire to have more and more money. That is why the big tobacco companies reach an agreement with governments and high officials and put tobacco into circulation throughout the world.
They don't care about the damage they cause, they care about the money they make.
Not only them, because some people take tobacco not because of money but because they are addicted to it. Most of them will steal just to satisfy their desire. Anytime I see a pack of cigarettes and I read the warning: smokers are liable to die young, it gets me annoyed. Maybe you should change because it looks like betrayal. You know we're going to die young and you're still selling it to us....
I assume the only way to raise taxes is on stuff many cannot resist (cars, drugs) and what they need to survive (shekter, food, clithes, water, electricity and the new kid: internet).
The rest, those health tips? It's all fake. They rather see you die. It's said because tmit is exoected.
What school teaches us fake. To start with how to sit, lift, the max of weight of a schoolbag, when to pee, eat, sleep.
🍀♥️
Even if they raise tax on hard drug, people will still find a way to get it. The worst part, tr company will make it smaller quantities. It a business strategy, they know that once people get in touch in it, they will do everything to get it.
Yes @wakeupkitty, you are right. All the health propaganda that may come out as a result of the misuse of a substance or exposure to things is just a smokescreen. This is how we believe that large companies are truly committed to human health. They only commit to your money.
