Day 10 of #LightTheWorld 'Search The Scriptures', And I promise your will find!
Dear Steemanos and Steemanitas!
First of all: Merry Christmas to you and your whole family, I wish you happy times!
Day 10 #lighttheworld
"Search The Scriptures"
-John 5:39
The scriptures contain the word of God, relayed to us through inspired servants. As we study the scriptures, we grow closer to God and gain a clearer vision of our purpose on earth.
Do You even Read?
Did you know that the average person reads 1 book a year? And did you know that the average person spend 2 hours a DAY on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter And Instagram?
So happy that #Steemit provides a platform where genuine people can write amazing articles, that provides GREAT content with value. Like this initiative where we can send our thoughts on improving lives for everybody.
I'm not saying you have to read the Bible every day of your life. But you might want to start with 1 scripture a week with your children, parents, friends or any other relatives. Let everybody give their thoughts on what that verse means to them. You'd be surprised how one can interpret the words from a scripture, and it will make you think differently on situations.
I give you an example!
You open the Bible ( I hope you have one, because you should, its the most sold book ever! It must contain some value, right??) and go for any page. Read the Scripture in there out loud. Now, you want to give everybody some time to write down their toughts. This could be a real-life situation, or what they imagine what this means for them. And later give everyone the opportunity to speak. Listen well and ask genuine questions.
In my opinion this is a great way to understand people and give them a chance to speak up for themselves It creates deeper relations and you feel amazing.
MY Nr. 1 Scripture in the Bible
-Acts 18:9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.
For me, it is very important to speak up. Either for yourself or for others. If you give up on yourself or others, you've lost hope in life. Regain strenght, your word is important. For me, the greatest people I've studied, are people who never gave up, stayed persistent in their words and made a difference to speak up for others.
- Jesus Christ
- Martin Luther King
- Nelson Mandela
- Mother Theresa
- Mahatma Gandhi
- Desmond Tutu
- Dalai Lama
Who are your examples in life? What have you learned from them? I love hearing your story!
Thanks to @hanshotfirst and @gavvet for making this happen! God bless you! <3
