Small improvement to The Deadpost Initiative (rewarding undervalued posts)
The Deadpost Initiatives gives your undervalued posts a chance to get some love and attention, and possibly some reward as well.
The Deadpost Initiative - week 15
Improvement to the Initiative
One of the problems I’ve had with the Initiative is that the first 2 or 3 posts will often do much much better than the later posts in terms of engagement. Engagement is the biggest factor I use in deciding the winner of the week. I would like quality posts to get the most engagement, ideally having some engagement on EVERY post.
While earlier posts will still have a slight advantage I’ve thought of a way to counter this. I’m going to use the timing and value of my upvote to give a boost to entries which seem to have had a hard time getting noticed because they came later. I’ll try to start upvoting entries on the second or third day. Hopefully this will give everyone a more equal chance at winning. I may have to experiment a bit on my timing and method but the goal is to make it more fair and make sure good posts don’t get ignored.
Success of the project
Thanks to all of your support we are growing slowly. This week a friend asked for some support from @sndbox, and so we got a bit more attention this week. I hope every week goes this well from now on. That support means the prize pool should be a little larger than the 10 Steem minimum this week. We’ve also had a lot of entries and a lot of engement which is always awesome! 90 comments so far and I haven’t added any of mine yet. Awesome!
Keep an eye out for week 16, starting this weekend.

dead post is a great idea. keep it up
You know - another possibility is to opt for a two-week process.
The first week for nominations and the second week for voting on the nominations. :c)
Retaining the same 'frequency' would require a 'nomination post' occurring at the same time as a 'voting post' is being determined - but it places all nominees on a much more equal footing. ^_^
To reduce the workload you could also offer an incentive for the best written introduction(s) within a certain set of criteria.
In this way your work on the second post is a lot easier. ;c)
I’ll have to think about that. I may experiment with that in the future. Thanks for the idea!
Just seeing this now, how do you take part in this buddy?
Click on the link! You might want to wait til the next one which will start in about 24 hours.
Great to hear @whatamidoing! @sndbox is a great community to connect with - perfect for what you're doing (no pun intended lol). Looking forward to participating more! Cheers friend.
Maybe one day I'll repost my last post, since it was flagged to oblivion xD
Hahahaha great post! what happened there. You should tell those big guys who upvoted you, maybe they can help you out a bit. It seems only one person flagged you, not sure who that is.
Really? You don't know? Well... it's someone not even those big guys can face.
Sweetsssj? Who!? Hahahah
